Summary: As a regulator and operator, the FAA's diverse mission activities collect and generate a tremendous amount of data. This data and information must be leveraged to its fullest extent possible to enable the mission, which is to provide the safest and most efficient aerospace system in the world, to drive efficiency, improve accountability, fuel innovation, exploit the use of data, and embrace modern analytical techniques.
Teams should submit advanced analytics and AI/ML proposals that address one of the following categories:
Improve Aviation Safety
Improve Operational Efficiency of the NAS
Contribute to the Drive for Sustainable Aviation
Assist with the Rapidly Evolving New and Novel Uses of the NAS
Eligibility:
Teams of undergraduate and graduate students at accredited United States-based colleges and universities.
Teams may include senior capstone students, clubs, and multi-university or multi-disciplinary students. Minority Serving Institutions are highly encouraged to apply.
