Summary: Students engage (or disengage) with STEM classes in different ways and for different reasons. Providing opportunities for students to make observations, reflections and questions on primary sources of various topics allows them to see themselves as scientists, engineers, and mathematicians, and uncovers insights into the nature of science and math, as well as cross-curricular connections. This interactive session will focus on the foundational primary source analysis process and its application in K-12 STEM classrooms. We'll demonstrate how using primary sources can facilitate engagement, and provide an opportunity for participants to explore the free resources available on the Library's Teachers' page and reflect on using primary sources in their classrooms.
